Jefferson Airplane è stata una rock band americana formatasi a San Francisco, California nel 1965. Pioniere del movimento rock psichedelico, Jefferson Airplane è stata la prima band della scena di San Francisco ad ottenere successo commerciale e critico di massa. Con un sound caratterizzato da melodie orecchiabili, testi poetici e l'influenza del folk americano, hanno contribuito a definire l'estetica e il suono dell'epoca. Tra i loro brani più famosi si ricordano "Somebody to Love", "White Rabbit" e "Volunteers". L'album di debutto omonimo (1966) e *Surrealistic Pillow* (1967), con l'hit "Somebody to Love", hanno consacrato la band come una delle più importanti del movimento psichedelico.
