The Charlie Daniels Band where a southern rock/country band, led by fiddle player Charlie Daniels. Their primary commercial success came in the late 70s and early 80s. Charlie Daniels played as a session musician in the 60s and 70s working with such artists as Johnny Cash and Bob Dylan. The band are best known for their Faustian hit single "The Devil Went Down to Georgia", which sees a hapless fiddle player beat the devil in a contest for his soul. The song won Charlie Daniels the Grammy in 1979 for Best Country Vocal Performance. He continues to play and tour to this.
