Gli Stone Temple Pilots sono una band rock americana formatasi a San Diego, California, nel 1989. Il nucleo storico del gruppo è composto dai fratelli Robert DeLeo al basso e Dean DeLeo alla chitarra, Eric Kretz alla batteria e Scott Weiland alla voce. Il loro sound, caratterizzato da riff di chitarra pesanti, melodie orecchiabili e la potente voce di Weiland, li ha catapultati nel mainstream grunge degli anni '90.
