Anathallo è stata una band originaria di Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, poi trasferitasi a Chicago, Illinois. La band ha iniziato a esibirsi nell'autunno del 2000 e ha dato il suo primo concerto poco dopo. Il nome deriva da una parola greca che significa "rinnovare, rinfrescare o fiorire di nuovo". Anathallo si è distinta per un sound indie rock caratterizzato da atmosfere malinconiche e melodie avvolgenti.
