Snoop Dogg, eigentlich Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., ist ein amerikanischer Rapper, Schauspieler und Musikproduzent, geboren 1971 in Long Beach, Kalifornien. Als einer der Pioniere des G-Funk, einem Musikstil mit entspannten Sounds und synkopierten Melodien, erlangte Snoop Dogg in den 1990er Jahren internationale Bekanntheit durch sein Debütalbum "Doggystyle" (1993), produziert vom legendären Dr. Dre. Sein unverwechselbarer Rapstil, gekennzeichnet durch einen langsamen Flow und oft ironische und verspielte Texte, machte ihn zu einem der einflussreichsten Künstler der Hip-Hop-Geschichte. Neben der Musik hat sich Snoop Dogg auch in verschiedenen künstlerischen Bereichen versucht, indem er in Filmen und Fernsehserien mitspielte und Dokumentarfilme produzierte. Zu seinen bekanntesten Songs gehören "Gin and Juice", "Drop It Like It's Hot" (mit Pharrell Williams) und "Beautiful" (feat. Nate Dogg).
