Hope of the States è stata una band indie inglese proveniente da Chichester, caratterizzata da influenze post-rock. Attiva dal 2003 al 2010, il gruppo ha guadagnato popolarità grazie a un sound ricco di atmosfere e melodie malinconiche, spesso accompagnate da intensi momenti strumentali. Tra i brani più rappresentativi figurano "The Last Time", "The Sun Is Setting" e "This Is The End". L'album di debutto, "The Hope of the States", pubblicato nel 2005, ha segnato l'inizio della loro ascesa, consolidando il loro posto nell'indie rock britannico. Hope of the States si è sciolta nel 2010 dopo un tour mondiale e la pubblicazione dell'album "The Last Time".
