Dead Moon è stata una rock band americana attiva dal 1987 al 2006, formatasi a Portland, Oregon. Il gruppo era guidato da Fred Cole, cantante e chitarrista, insieme alla moglie Toody Cole al basso e ad Andrew Loomis alla batteria. Veterani della scena indipendente rock di Portland, Dead Moon ha combinato un garage rock oscuro e malinconico con influenze punk e country in un suono essenziale. Fred Cole ha prodotto la maggior parte delle registrazioni del gruppo e le ha masterizzate su una testata mono utilizzata per la versione di "Louie Louie" dei Kingsmen. I loro primi album, come "In the Graveyard", sono stati pubblicati dall'etichetta Tombstone Records, che prende il nome dal negozio di strumenti musicali gestito da Fred e Toody all'epoca. Dead Moon ha presto attirato l'attenzione dell'etichetta tedesca Music Maniac Records e ha intrapreso un tour europeo di successo.
