Disincarnate è stata una band di death metal tecnico degli anni '90, guidata dal chitarrista James Murphy, noto anche per il suo lavoro con Testament, Cancer, Obituary e Death. Finora è stato pubblicato un solo album, *Dreams of the Carrion Kind*. Murphy ha lavorato intermittentemente a un secondo album per alcuni anni, mentre affrontava problemi di salute.
