Hot Tuna è un gruppo musicale statunitense formatosi nel 1969 come offshoot acustico (e a volte elettrico) di Jefferson Airplane. Originariamente la band suonava insieme a Jefferson Airplane, aprendo i loro concerti, ma dopo lo scioglimento del gruppo principale, Hot Tuna ha continuato ad esistere. Dopo un album d'esordio omonimo che si è concentrato sul blues acustico, hanno incorporato un suono elettrico pienamente realizzato negli album successivi, a partire dal 1975 con *America's Choice*. Il gruppo si è sciolto nel 1978 ma si è riunito a metà degli anni '80. Non sono stati rilasciati nuovi materiali fino al 1990 con l'album *Pair of Dice Found*. Tra i brani più rappresentativi di Hot Tuna figurano: *Candy Man*, *Ode for Billy Dean*, *Keep on Truckin'* e *The River Song*.
