Switchblade Symphony è stata una band di San Francisco, California, formatasi nel 1989 dalla compositrice Susan Wallace e dalla vocalist Tina Root. Il loro genere musicale si colloca nell'ambito del gothic rock, caratterizzato da atmosfere dark e melodie sinfoniche. Il loro primo album è stato pubblicato nel 1995 per l'etichetta Cleopatra Records. La formazione live comprendeva due chitarristi: Robin Jacobs (poi passato a Razor Skyline) e George Earth, e due batteristi: Eric Gebow (ora con Blue Man Group) e Scott van Shoick.
