Strapping Young Lad è stato un gruppo musicale heavy metal canadese formatosi a Vancouver nel 1994 dal multi-strumentista Devin Townsend. Considerati pionieri del genere djent, hanno combinato elementi di death metal, thrash metal e progressive metal con sonorità elettroniche e sperimentali.
