Barbara Ruth Dickson ist eine schottische Sängerin und Schauspielerin, geboren 1947 in Glasgow. Bekannt für ihre kraftvolle Stimme und ihre schauspielerischen Leistungen hat sie sowohl als Musicaldarstellerin als auch als Solokünstlerin großen Erfolg erzielt. Zu ihren bekanntesten Rollen gehören die in Chess, Blood Brothers, John, Paul, George, Ringo ... and Bert und Spend, Spend, Spend. Sie gewann 1983 und 2000 jeweils einen Laurence Olivier Award für die beste Schauspielerin in einem Musical. Ihre Zusammenarbeit mit Elaine Paige im Duett "I Know Him So Well" erlangte internationale Bekanntheit. Dickson ist auch bekannt für ihre Interpretationen traditioneller schottischer und folkloristischer Lieder sowie origineller Songs, die vom Rock bis zum Jazz reichen. Zu ihren bekanntesten Liedern gehören: "I Know Him So Well", "January Song", "The Last Rose of Summer", "A Woman's Heart" und "Once in a Lifetime".
