Codeseven è stata una band americana di melodic hardcore formatasi a Winston-Salem, North Carolina nel 1995. Il loro primo EP ufficiale, *A Sense of Coalition* (1998), ha guadagnato popolarità sulle stazioni radio universitarie grazie a una cover di «The Boys of Summer» di Don Henley. Con l'album *Division of Labor* (1999), Codeseven si è affermata come una delle band più importanti del movimento hardcore. Dopo il cambio di cantante, David Owen, hanno pubblicato *The Rescue* (2002), un album che ha visto la band diventare meno aggressiva e più melodica, abbandonando in gran parte le radici hardcore a favore di un sound progressivo ed sperimentale, simile a quello di Cave In.
