Carole King, all'anagrafe Carol Joan Klein (New York, 9 febbraio 1942), è una cantautrice, compositrice e pianista statunitense di grande successo internazionale. Iniziò la sua carriera come autrice per altri artisti, scrivendo successi per i The Shirelles, i Drifters e Aretha Franklin. Nel 1971 raggiunse l'apice della popolarità con il suo album *Tapestry*, un capolavoro che vendette oltre 25 milioni di copie in tutto il mondo.
