I Pink Floyd sono stati un gruppo musicale rock britannico, fondati a Londra nel 1965 da Syd Barrett (cantante e chitarrista), Roger Waters (bassista), Nick Mason (batterista) e Richard Wright (tastierista). Nel gennaio 1968 si unì al quartetto David Gilmour (chitarrista e cantante), che in seguito prese il posto di Barrett, sempre più alienato a causa dell'uso di droghe.
