Pavement è un gruppo musicale indie rock statunitense formatosi a Stockton, in California, nel 1989. Considerati uno dei gruppi più influenti del movimento indie rock degli anni '90, Pavement ha raggiunto una vasta fanbase grazie al loro sound caratterizzato da riff melodici, testi ironici e sperimentali e un'atmosfera rilassata e disinvolta. Il gruppo è composto da Stephen Malkmus (voce, chitarra), Scott Kannberg (chitarra), Mark Ibold (basso), Bob Nastanovich (percussioni) e Gary Young (batteria). Tra i loro album più importanti figurano "Slanted and Enchanted" (1992), considerato un classico del genere indie rock, e "Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain" (1994), che ha consolidato il successo della band.
